Tkinter Designer

Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Tkinter Designer (the "Service"), which is operated by an individual based in England & Wales and can be contacted through our contact form. By using the Service you're agreeing to them.

The important part: your work is yours

You own everything you make here. The designs you create and the Python source the generator produces from them belong to you. We claim no rights over them whatsoever.

Use that code for anything — coursework, assignments, personal projects, commercial products, anything. You don't need to credit us, ask permission, or pay anything. There are no strings on the output, and there never will be.

We store your saved designs only so we can show them back to you. That's the entire extent of the permission you give us over your content.

What we own

The Service itself — the application, its code generator, interface, templates, documentation, and branding — belongs to the operator and is protected by copyright. Your right to use it is a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use it as intended, and nothing more.

Using the Service

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Service or its content, or access it through automated means other than an ordinary browser.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or try to derive the source of any part of the Service that isn't already public, except where law says you may regardless of what a contract states.
  • Copy or reproduce the Service, or use it to build or train a competing product.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to the Service.
  • Abuse the sign-in system — including requesting links for addresses that aren't yours, or trying to get around the rate limits.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, server, or data, or otherwise interfere with the Service running normally for other people.
  • Use the Service to break the law, or to store or share unlawful content.

Your account

Sign-in is by emailed link, so there's no password to protect — but anyone with access to your email can get into your account. Keep your inbox secure. Tell us if you think someone else has been in your account.

You can delete your account at any time from your account page, which erases your designs and history immediately and permanently.

Share links

Turning on a share link makes that design viewable by anyone who has the URL, without signing in. That's the point of the feature, but it means you're responsible for who you give the link to. Don't share anything you need to stay private. You can revoke a link at any time.

Availability

The Service is free and provided as-is. We don't promise it will be available, uninterrupted, or bug-free, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time. We'll try to give notice before anything that would lose your data, but you should keep your own copies of work that matters — the download button exists for exactly this reason.

Generated code

The generator aims to produce correct, runnable Python, but you're responsible for reviewing and testing anything you use. We're not liable for what generated code does when you run it. Check it before you submit it or ship it.

Disclaimer and liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost coursework, arising out of your use of the Service. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you've paid us in the past twelve months (which for a free service is nothing) or the minimum the law permits.

Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Ending things

You can stop using the Service and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, or where we're required to. If we terminate your account without cause, we'll give you a reasonable chance to export your designs first.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and for significant updates we'll say so in the app. If you keep using the Service after a change, you've accepted it. If you don't agree, delete your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
